There are a number of reasons you might want to upgrade your siding. There is, of course, the obvious reason. Wood Siding may be Experiencing Rot
If you have wood siding you might find that you have had water intrusion behind the siding panels. You will find that the paint is peeling and blistering. Push on the siding as well. On glued wood siding ( wood pulp with a binder of glue ), failing siding will show itself by having the bottom edge of the siding boards begin to swell or chip.
